"36 Days of Type" is an annual design challenge that invites creatives from around the world to explore and express their unique interpretations of letters and numbers. Over the course of 36 days, participants design a new piece each day, starting with the letters A to Z, followed by the numbers 0 to 9. The project serves as a platform for designers to showcase their skills, experiment with different styles, and engage with a global community of artists. It encourages creativity, innovation, and the exploration of diverse typographic forms, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and artistic expression.
Participating in the 36 Days of Type challenge in 2021 and 2023 allowed me to explore different creative approaches. In 2021, I focused on unrestricted experimentation, letting my imagination lead the way. In 2023, I aimed for more structure by creating a typeface first and then experimenting around it. Each day offered a chance to push my creative boundaries, refine my skills, and improve my design consistency, ultimately enhancing my abilities and understanding of typography.
